Roses On Paper Challenge #12 - One for the Boys

WOW.... This challenge was wild!
The Roses On Paper's Blog Challenge
has an AWESOME Challenge thought up by Peta!
This one really had me stumped, it took me
2 days to figure out what on earth I was going to do.

Finally I had a general idea, but still the layout
just wasn't coming to me.
So I winged it!

Yep, that's right, I had NO specific layout in my brain,
I just started cutting and placing pieces around the paper
until I came up with something that worked for me.

And Ta-Da... Here you have it!

The challenge was to create a masculine card
- One for the Boys -
The challenge said...
No Pink, No Flowers, No Ribbon & No Lace
OUCH!!!
But I did it!
I used hemp string, and brass colored eyelets,
I even knotted the hemp string, every other hole.
the brown strip at the left is hard to see in this picture
but it has brass colored embossed writing that simply says
"Happy Birthday"
Nothing too fancy, but definately masculine!
The image is Traveler Edwin and I added Rufus!
Isn't he cute?

And on the inside
I used a stamp from one of my "Stampin' Up" sets
called "Just Celebrate"
I thought the cake worked out perfectly.
It was added as a last thought,
since I desperately needed something on that square!
It couldn't have worked out better!
That bottom square is NOT black, it's brown like the
one at the top, but taking a picture at night
without natural lighting makes things come out wrong!
Trust me, everything DOES match! LOL

Peta - You really made my brain work over timefor this challenge.
It was Great!!! I am pleased with the outcome!

Stunning sweetie! Love it. Your colouring is really super! Kramis - Anki and yes - of course - almost forgot the Swedish lesson: Idag är jag hemma med Isac - för han har feber.

Rufus is so adorable! I like the way you've used the string and the combination of different shaped and patterned papers is fun.
