Magnolia Vs. Stampavie - Week 18 - Mothers Day

This weeks challenge for "Magnolia Vs. Stampavie" is the
"Mothers Day Theme"
First of all I have say that apparently the challenge is not
posted where it usually is, so I have linked directly
to this weeks challenge.
I have the challenge site saved in my favorites,
but when I click there it's still bringing up last weeks challenge.
Strange, but okay I managed to find out where this weeks was posted.

I have come to the conclusion that if something will be stubborn
it will definitely be stubborn for me! LOL

Now I feel that I need to ask for some advice...
I received about 8 Sarah Kay stamps for Christmas
NOTICE: I rarely use them.
I have never had such a struggle with stamps as I have with these.
They are a very sticky stamp, so much so that
when you ink them, and place it on your paper,
I have to have a good grip on the acrylic block and
pull up in one hard motion.
THEN and ONLY IF I'm lucky
my image will be fully stamped.
It doesn't matter what ink I use
I've tried them all. With the same result.
I've tried cleaning the stamp several times
with Clear Stamp Cleaner prior to using it
it doesn't seem to make a difference.

I have only 1 out of all 8 images that does NOT behave this way.
I usually spend about 20 - 25 minutes just trying to
get ONE decent stamped image.

Often times I end up giving up and taking a Copic
Lining Pen and filling in the missing parts.
It's TERRIBLE.

I just wonder if anyone else has had these sorts of problems?
Or is it only me?

Needless to say I don't use my Sarah Kay images
all that often. I love the images, but I just don't
like the headache of using them.

Anyway, now that I've expressed my gripes
I just wonder if anyone else has had similar problems
and what suggestions you may have.

Okay on with what I came here to do. LOL
My Mothers Day Card.

My Sarah Kay image was colored using Tombow markers
and the green and teal paper I took from a friends stash. LOL
I love it when she says she needs to get rid of some papers.
I always get to take first pick.
Anyway...I had to find a way to dress up the green cardstock
so I used some Flourish clear stamps that I had.
Honestly I forget what kind they even are.
Flowers are Prima, and the sentiment I created on my computer
And the inside I left blank so that I could write my own message.

Wow gorgeous card, I love the colours...have you tried changing your ink, some inks can leave some types of stamps sticky...change your ink and give your stamps a really good wash with warm soapy water and retry...let me know how you get on xxx

What a beautiful card! Yes, I have had the same problem with some of my Sarah Kay stamps, they do get better with use. Try using a foam stamping mat underneath or a couple of magazines as these act as cushions. Good luck with them, they are too nice NOT to use them, I love them.

This is so gorgeous honey - love your fabulous colouring.

Now to the stamps, I had terrible problems with a Xmas stamp but managed to get it exchanged. I would say contact Stampavie as from what I can remember there were a lot of grumlings over these stamps xx
