Another FANTASTIC challenge is happening over on the
"Roses On Paper Blog"
This time, Anki has chosen the theme
and it's to create a card using the
Colors of Fall.
That would be
Orange, Brown and Warm Red!
This really made me think,
but it didn't take me long to figure out what I wanted to do.
I brought out one of my Sarah Kay images
which I very rarely use, because of issues with how they ink up,
then I set out to pick my papers.
After that I started working on a layout, with no particular idea
in my mind, but after laying papers here and there and
then just randomly placing them
I came up with my layout.
Last but not least, I began coloring my image.
Oh and let me say, Anki really knew what she was doing
when she picked these gorgeous colors.
I had a blast coloring my SK image,
and those apples, now they were a challenge,
but I wanted to get that fall feeling and color them just right.
Believe it or not, all the papers I used on this card
were taken from my scrap drawers.
I never had to cut into a single piece of new paper.
I LOVE it when I can do that!
My "warm red" paper is a DCWV scrap of textured paper that I used one of my flourish stamps (I have no idea what company) to do some bronze embossing. I then used the same stamp on my orange paper using my Stampin' Up "Pumpkin Pie" ink pad.
The result was just what I was looking for.
Have you seen what the winner of this challenge will receive?
You won't want to miss entering this weeks challenge, thats for sure!
One of the Brand new Belles 'n Whistles stamps is going to one
lucky winner.
If you haven't seen them yet, you really should click that link
and go check them all out!
Ohhhh, if only you could have heard my friend earlier.
I was working on my card,
and talking to her on the phone at the same time.
She asked me what goodies the winner would get.
So of course I told her, and do you know what she said?
That I had better win. LOL
I said, I don't need to win, I have that adorable stamp already
so she said... "But I don't"
Go figure!!!
Anyway, NOT that I want Summer to end, but boy this
card seems to be bringing out my wish for those pretty colors of Autumn and the smell of the crisp Autumn air.
I think I'll just wait, and not rush summer,
especially since I haven't even had my vacation yet.
Sorry for the long post,
Guess I just felt like yapping this evening! LOL
