A Birthday Wish From Belle!

Greetings everyone!  I have a quick post for you all today.
It was my turn to post on the Belles 'n Whistles Blog, so I thought I'd share the card I made for today.

Speaking of cards, Are you all getting those entries in for the DT Call?  I know we are all excited to see the creativity using these darling Belle stamps.  =)  Remember the deadline is Tomorrow.  So hurry and enter, you never know, YOU may be the next Belles 'n Whistles DT member.    =)

Alright, now on to the card.....  I have an extra sweet card to show you today.  I used "Tea Time" and tried to keep my card and coloring in soft hues.  If any of you know me and my coloring style, SOFT is not usually me!  LOL  So this was a tiny challenge for me.  I am quite pleased with the outcome.

I decided that instead of using several different DP's I would stick with just ONE print, and 2 shades of solids.  Also very much NOT LIKE ME!

I had a difficult time matching paper in the teal color, so I simply inked some to match that teal using Stampin' Up ink.  Those became my border papers around the printed DP.  Oh Oh, and the little tabs at the top of the image are also inked paper strips.  I really love the way they look there.  So anyway, I used simple Beige and Brown textured paper from DCWV and a White paper doily that I inked with Antique Linen Distress ink.  The sentiment is computer generated, and the flowers are punched.

But Belle.... Dear Sweet Belle.... Doesn't she look like she's truly enjoying herself with her tea?  I know I would LOVE to have a stump like that to sit on, and just go sit and get away from all of lifes little stresses, and enjoy some tea and listening to the sounds of nature.

But anyway,  now you see that a lot of extra embellishments were not necessary to complete this card, just a few basic things, and I have to say that this has got to be one of my favorite cards to date.  Maybe I should save it, and give it to myself for my birthday!  ha ha.... Imagine that?

You know that reminds me.... I think I'm getting the short of end of the deal when it comes time for my birthday.  My mother always has me make cards for everyone in the family.  She sends them all, (Males & Females) my handmade cards, but when it comes time for my birthday, I get a store bought one..... What a rip off.... I think I'm going to have to protest!  ha ha

Okay, I guess that's all the blabbering I have to do for today, I hope you've enjoyed my card today.
Have a Beautiful Day!

LOL! Oh yes Lynda! You are getting "ripped off" by a store bought card, and everyone else gets a handmade one! lol! I mean, can't they at least draw something like stick figures or something and at least say it's made with love? lmao!!!

Well, your family is sure lucky to get all of your beautiful cards!! :) I'd be thrilled myself to get a handmade card!!!

Anywhoooo, Yep yep yep! I love this little Belle sitting and enjoying her cuppa tea ... she looks so happy all by herself enjoying the sunshine and her own company and thoughts. hmmmm ... yep, I'd sure love a moment like that too. :) Well, your card is simply FABULOUS with those LOVELY colors on there! You've colored her BEAUTIFULLY!!! Gorgeous as always! :)
