Phindy's Place Friday Challenge #12 it's all about "Red White And Blue"

Greetings, and Good morning!!!  It's Friday again, and you know what that means, right?

It's another Phabulous Phindy's Challenge!!!!  If you haven't been to the Phindy's Challenge Blog yet, you are going to want to stop in today.... The inspiration is amazing!  This weeks Theme is to use "Red, White, and Blue"  For us here in the U.S.A that's a perfect theme for this week, since we are celebrating our Independence Day.  The 4th of July!

I really hope to see many of you joining in, it's so much fun!  You can read all the details over on the challenge blog.  =)

For my card this week, I decided that I would try something so totally out of my norm.  I was weaving!  ha ha  Okay Okay I have to tell you, I got the idea from an art project that the kids were making in school.  We had an end of the year picnic last week, and the kids all got to make their own placemats.  Now I must say that when the kids were working on these, I didn't cringe so bad, especially since they are special needs kids and our classroom has ages 5 -7.  Soooooo, I can tolerate how they work, but HOLY COW... You should have seen me cringe when the teacher in the room was just cutting strips of construction paper just randomly.  Uneven, and not even the same size.  I almost died, and then she asked me to cut some too.  Then she almost died when she saw me take a long ruler, to draw even lines for a cutting guide.  She told me... "Don't be so picky"  LOL

OH GOOD LORD....  Look who she's talking to....  Needless to say even the main paper with the slits in it weren't even cut evenly, it made it so that the strips of paper the kids were weaving weren't lined up.  But obviously THEY didn't care, it was just me who was very concerned about it!  LOL

Sooooo, for my card this week, I decided that I would try the same weaving technique that the kids used, but I cut strips MY WAY, and of course had to have them all line up perfectly!  What a fun little project!

This is what I came up with.

Now aren't you all glad that you read that little story about weaving?  LOL

I used "Flower Top Fairy Daffodil" from Phindy's Shop, and colored her in the traditional Red, White, and Blue.  I just love the BLUES in the daffodil, I know they are not usually that color, but who says you have to follow the rules?

The stem of my flower was made with beads, I just wanted a little something different, soooo there you have it!

Red - White AND Blue..... AND I was weaving!  ha ha

I hope you'll join in with us for this challenge, I'd love to see what you can come up with!  If you don't have any of Phindy's gorgeous Digital images, you can always get a couple of Freebies over on her PCP group.  So what are you waiting for?  Go ahead grab a freebie, and lets see what you can do.

You can find more inspiration from the rest of the DT below:

Thanks for stopping by, and for all my American friends.....  Happy 4th of July!!!
