Greetings everyone,
The "back to school" season is in full swing now, for everyone, and things are starting to get more routine it seems. It's felt like a very long week, as well as feeling like a short week. How on earth does that happen?
As for this week, Phindy's Challenge Blog is "Going Green". And I truly WENT Green! LOL
I really didn't want to make a card that was using mostly shades of green. I'm not a big "Green" type of person... Soooo since "Going Green" could mean other things, I decided to recycle.
I really was not in the mood to create yet another card, so I decided to create a gift tag instead. I used some corrugated cardboard, some silk leaves from an old flowers arrangement that had been taken apart, and then some leaves that I had some left overs from a project that I made months ago. I guess it was good to save those things, because it came in handy to use up some things, "recycle" them instead of throwing them away.
I used Phindy's "Little Swinger" because she reminded me of the days when I was young, and used to go out and swing in a tire swing that we had hanging in a tree. so the swing, and the leaves, all seemed to just tie in together for me.
I colored the Little Swinger using Copics, and then added some clear glitter glue to make her stand out against the colorful Martha Stewart papers.
So there you have it, this is how my little "Going Green" gift tag came about.
I hope to see all sorts of "Going Green" ideas show up during this weeks challenge. I always love seeing what other people use to recycle things.
