Hopefully you have come from our wonderfully talented Linda Payne's Blog.
Our challenge this week is Paper Piecing and the usual prizes are up for grabs, as well as a $10 Gift Certificate from Phindy's Place, however you may have noticed that our DT cards were NOT on Phindy's Challenge Blog today, because we would love it if you would hop along with us, and collect a word from each of our postings.
"AND" here we go.... Since our challenge this week is "Paper Piecing" I think it's time for me to show you what I made for this very special blog hop challenge.
(did you happen to notice what word you are supposed to collect from me?)
I decided to create a "Mothers Day" card, simply because I am going to need it soon enough =) I used the adorable little girl called "Patience" from Phindy's Online Shop.
I paper pieced her using just one piece of double sided paper from Martha Stewart. The flourish type design on one side, and the polka dots on the other side. I thought it worked out perfectly for giving this little ones dress some noticable differences while keeping within the same color scheme.
Do you see that my circle paper behind the image matches her dress and hat? After piecing the polka dot pieces on her hat and body of the dress, I took my paper piercing tool, and lightly poked at it randomly just enough to give it a tiny bit of texture, but I DID NOT poke holes all the way through.
If you look real close you can slightly tell the difference of texture in this photo, from the circle I used behind the image. I should have probably taken a closer picture of that, simply because it looks kind of like real fibers in her dress. =)
When you've got the full sentence, please post it in the comments on Phindy's Place Challenge Blog (which will be hidden until the hop is over!) and for doing that, YOU could win the $10.00 gift certificate to use at Phindy's Place Store. How Cool Is That?
You aren't required to leave comments at each blog, but we'd love it if you do leave some love for the DT! Our Blog Hop is open until midnight (GMT) 28 April.
So this week, you have THREE chances to win: the blog hop, the random winner of the challenge and the pick of the week. So what are you waiting for?
Your next stop along the way is our newest talented DT sister Mona's Blog.
Just in case you get lost along the way, here is our main Blog hop order.
