Greetings! It's the 25th of the month, and that means there is a brand new challenge over on the Elisabeth Bells World Challenge Blog. I do so love those challenges, and seeing all the creativness that joins in. This month the challenge is to use the colors, Red, White, and Blue!!! For those of us living in the U.S.A. that is the perfect challenge for this time of year. I live in N.Y. but believe it or not, I didn't use any stars and stripes type of theme, which is so easy to do this time of year. Instead I just had to go with my darling Elisabeth Bell stamp from Belles 'n Whistles called "Jam Jars". This would be beautiful in the colors Red, White, and Blue.... I was right to think so too.
I enjoyed every aspect of coloring this darling stamp with Copics. The red paper in the background was just a plain piece of red cardstock that I stamped with some strawberry stamps that were accessories from one of Whiff of Joy's Summer Kits, (2009 maybe???) I then did some heat embossing with white around the edges, and I even stamped one strawberry, and layered it so it would be thick, and used it as an embellishment on top of the bow.
So as you see, I managed to go with the Red, White, and Blue theme without being Patriotic.... I'm a creature of habit, and I tried my best to stay away from doing the usual with this theme. ha ha....
