Elisabeth Bell Meets Katy Sue and Flower-Softs "Simpler Times"

Greetings my Blogging Friends,

Today is an exciting day for ALL fans of Elisabeth Bell designs.  Some of you may know that Elisabeth Bell joined Katy Sue Designs also known as Flower Soft USA a while back, and we've all been waiting to see what fabulous Elisabeth Bell Designs and products Flower Soft would be carrying.  Well WAIT NO MORE.

Today 6 absolutely gorgeous designs by ElisabethBell through Flower Soft is launching across the globe!!!   The "Simpler Times Collection" is a downloadable collection, and is jam packed with all sorts of goodies.  (All the Juicy Details names of sets, and everything that is included in each set is listed below)

Katy Sue, using Elisabeth Bell's Beautiful artwork, has developed these images into crafting loveliness, and are available as Clear Stamp & Sentiment Collections, Papercrafting CD Rom (UK Only), and 6 x Downloads (US Only)

I am honored to have been given the opportunity to create with one of these brand new, never before seen "Simpler Times" downloadable kits.  This one is called "You've Reached The Top".

I've decided that I would create a couple of things, to show the different things that can be done.  The possibilities are endless.  Any card maker or crafter will surely find lots of uses for these downloadable kits.

First I have used a Shaped Card that comes in this kit.  All you have to do is print it, and follow the scoring, and cutting directions, and you've got an adorable card... but take it one step further and print out the matching image pieces in order to make this basic print out a 3D Decoupage shaped card.  That is what I did for my first example.

I printed this absolutely adorable little guy and all of the card parts on a glossy cardstock, because I really wanted a polished look.  It turned out beautifully.  I slightly inked all edges of the cut pieces with "Vintage Photo" distress ink by Tim Holtz.

Here are some closer views of the layering that you get when you print and use the 3D Decoupage option.

What did I tell you?  Is this not the cutest ever?  And you won't believe how fast making this card actually was.  I'm going to estimate 30 minutes total, by the time you've cut all the pieces and placed them.  A perfect way to create a card when you're strapped for time.

The next example I have made using yet another option that comes in this kit, is that Card Toppers.  There are 3 different frame types in full color for the card toppers, and one colored in Sepia tone too.

So if you like to make your own cards, no matter if they are simple or elaborate - a Card Topper might be just what you need to get your card made a lot faster.   Because backing papers come included in this kit, you could choose to print those out and use them, OR you may want to use your own papers like I did.  Sooooo, in keeping it quick and simple, Here is my card using "You've Reached The Top" card topper.  This card was fast, and took only about 15- 20 minutes to complete.

And last but certainly not least, I've created my own style card.  Yes in this gorgeous card making kit, you even get a digi to print out and color as you wish....  I still enjoy coloring and using this style of card making, but you never know when you need something quick.  However, the one you are about to see, took more like 2-3 hours to complete, by the time I'd finished coloring my image.

I've used random papers that were in my stash.  No scraps go to waste around here...  LOL  And my image was colored completely with Prisma Color Pencils.  No Copics used here... *Gasp* can you believe it?   The colors used are listed below.  As for my clouds... Well I drew them, paper pierced them, rolled an embossing tool around on them, and just basically gave them a worn look.  Then applied them where I wanted them.  =)

I hope that you have enjoyed seeing what I've created, the options with the "Simpler Times" Kits by Elisabeth Bell, are endless....  and they are ONLY Available through Flower Soft USA.
