I'm "Makin' It Crafty" with MiC

Okay - Okay, a lame post title, but I just couldn't help myself.  LOL 

 

I wanted to share a little bit of coloring I've recently done, as well as a card that I've just finished. I've been trying to challenge myself to color a little more out of my comfort zone.  (not only that but color images that are a bit of challenge as well) 

 

The first thing I'm sharing is some of my coloring that I was planning on entering into the Make It Crafty smooth Gradients challenge.  I didn't make it on time, as the days got away from me, so I figured I would share my coloring anyway. 

 

This little doll with all that hair is called "Zoe Celebrates", she is a darling digi from

Make It Crafty. 

The hair is what scared me the most, but I did it....  So glad that I took on this challenge for myself.  I'm going to KEEP working on hair I think.  *wink* 

 

Needless to say, she never made it into the smooth gradients challenge - so she is here just to show what I've done.  However, I have a card to share with you today as well, which I created for the Make It Crafty Facebook DT Call.  Scary???  YES!!!  But what can it hurt to try?  I really want to join in with this sort of thing, for several reasons.  First being that I want to improve my skills, and second, because Zoe, and all the girls at MiC are so uplifting and friendly.  I would love to be a part of that as well.  If I can encourage others, as well as learn and BE encouraged, than why not? Sooooo, here goes!!!!   

 

"Holly Rose" is also a Digital stamp from Make it Crafty.   

I've added a digital backround from Phindy's Place, which I don't even think is in existence anymore.  But I couldn't resist using this sweet bird bath.  I've also added the Pebblestone Patch Digi Stamp from the backgrounds section at Make it Crafty.

I've used both Copic Markers, and Prisma Colored Pencils for this image. 

The colors I used are: 
Hair: (Copics) E50, E53, YR23, E55 (Prisma) 1034-Goldenrod, 943-Burnt Ochre
Clothing: (Shirt) - (Copics) V0000, V01, V12, V15  (Prisma) 1009-Dahlia Purple -  (Pants) - B41, B45 - (Prisma) 901-Indigo Blue
Bird Bath: (Prisma) 1060-Cool Gray 20%, 1063-Cool Gray 50%, 1065-Cool Gray 70%
Flowers: (Prisma) 1009-Dahlia Purple, 918-Orange.
Grass/Leaves: (Prisma) 912-Apple Green, 908-Dark Green
Stones: (Prisma) 1051-Warm Gray 20%, 1052-Warm Gray 30%, 1094-Sandbar Brown, 935-Black
