This weeks challenge over at the "Just Magnolia" blog site
is a little different than usual.
We are supposed to create a card using an animal and/or insect,
and it DOESN'T have to be a magnolia image.
Even die cuts are okay!
This worked out in my favor because I had been asked to
create a card for a friend who just had to have
her precious baby, a 12 year old Rottweiler,
put down, but she wanted a card with a dog that
resembled her own, and needed it to be a thank-you card.
I did not have a stamp but I did find a picture and then traced it
so that I could use it as a digi image. Then colored
the image as best that I could to get the shading right.
Definitely not as easy as I thought it would be.
I used one of the butterflies from Magnolia's Spring 2009 line,
and a touch of grass with butterflies too.
I think that the card came out perfectly.
I'm actually surprised at the good the coloring
on the dog came out.
I tried to keep the card as simple as possible.
She requested NO FLOWERS be used, but flower papers
were okay. So I kept it clean & simple
only adding the black ribbon with buckle slide
to resemble a dogs collar.
The charm hanging from the image says "Thank You"
If anyone would like this image as a digi image
please let me know and I will email it to you.
I hate to have spent all that time on an image
just to have it sit here in my files doing nothing.
