WoJ - Challenge #35, and Sketch Saturdays Sketch #56

Happy Monday everyone.
I had some extra time yesterday to play
Yep, all my yard work got finished before it rained,
and then my housework and then I had most of Sunday AM
to play before going to my fathers for
our fathers day picnic.

So I decided to mix my card for the
Whiff of Joy challenge
with this awesome sketch from the
Sketch Saturday's challenge.

I've also decided that I would give a try out for the DT
that Whiff of Joy is calling for. I was undecided whether
or not I would try. I'm pretty sure I won't be chosen,
but hey, what can it hurt, right?

My card is a birthday wish that's fit for a queen.
I used the Whiff of Joy Medieval Queen Charlotte
and Charlotte's horse.
They were both lots of fun to color.
Although since I did the paper piecing on Charlotte's
dress, I really didn't have to color too much of her.
I used papers from Stampin' Up's "Bella Birds" collection
throughout my entire card. Paper piecing was done on the
long flowing part of Queen Charlotte's gown.
I also paper pieced in her crown.
I did a little shading on the lower portion of her gown,
and some shading in the folds as well.
I thought it looked great. =)

Her horse has a paper pieced blanket under it's saddle, and matching reigns.
I am quite please with how this paper piecing came out.
I don't think I could have picked a better image to work with.
This was definitely LOTS of fun.

As I mentioned, I used the sketch from Sketch Saturdays challenge
this week. It was just perfect for an image like this, and gave
me a chance to use all the different sides and coordinating papers
from the "Bella Birds" papers from Stampin' Up.
What a pretty layout!

Lastly, I added some punched flowers to 2 of the corners,
just to add a little more pizazz.

The inside also shows the paper range,
with a paper pieced "Knight Charlie"
(also from the Medieval collection)
I only paper pieced his boots, and vest.
He appears to be inside waiting for his queen to arrive.
He's so handsome, isn't he?
The sentiment I used for the inside was computer generated,
and the "Happy Birthday" sentiment on the outside
is from The Greeting Farms' "Happy Chef" set.

Well I guess that sums it all up,
I hope you enjoy the card.
