Wow, today is Christmas Eve... This month just flew right by. As you all know, this is the season of gift giving! How many times do you wish you had a "special" little something to say "THANK YOU" to someone?
We are saying "THANK YOU" this week over at Phindy's Place Challenge Blog. The rest of the Phindy's DT and I thought we'd challenge you to create a special Thank You. It doesn't have to be a project like I did, it can simply be a card if you like... but lets see what way YOU would like to say THANK YOU! As crafters, we all have a TON of scraps laying around I'm sure, so this weeks challenge we'd like to see you include scraps on your card or project.
Before I show you what I created, I thought I'd mention that there are big changes happening over at Phindy's Place right now.... Bringing in the New Year with some new ideas.... Phindy's Place Challenge Blog has decided to open the challenge to all-comers and you will no longer need to use a Phindy's Place image to enter.
However, what we love best of all is to see your projects that use Phindy's Place images! If you enter using a Phindy's Place image, you will get two entries to the draw to win a gift certificate. Soooooo, if you want to play along and wish to use lets say..... a Magnolia stamp or something, then you CAN, but you only get 1 entry... but if you use a Phindy's image.. you get 2 chances.... HOW COOL IS THAT????
You can read more details over on the Phindy's Place Challenge Blog.
Alright, so NOW I can show you what I created as my special Thank You!
I really wanted to give this candle a "Frosted Glass" appearance, so after everything was decorated, I coated everything with Modge Podge, and then added gold and a touch of white glitter ... It looks so much better in person I think, but ohhhhh you should have seen the glitter mess I had made. Because I didn't want to sprinkle it directly onto the candle, I poured small bits of glitter in my hand and lightly blew the glitter toward the candle... WHAT A MESS, but the end result was awesome! So I guess cleaning up afterwards was worth it!
I hope you'll all find a way to use your scraps, and create a special thank you to someone, and join us for this weeks Phindy's Challenge. Which will be going on for 2 weeks this time, and Ending on Jan 7th.
Wishing you all a VERY MERRY CHRISTMAS!!
