Remember when we used to play with paper dolls? I'm feeling a tad bit nostalgic at the moment. Mo, from Mo's Digital Pencil recently created a beautiful "Paper Doll" named Trudy. OH MY GOODNESS, did this ever bring back some childhood memories for me. Although I don't recall the paper dolls I had back then, ever being as cute as Trudy is.
I got Trudy as a freebie for a contest that ends today over at Mo's Facebook page. I have worked on it a little bit at a time over this past week, and of course have found some other challenges along the way that I thought I would like to enter this card into.
So here we go.... Meet Trudy!
I colored Trudy with copic markers, and yes I even gave her pink "undies" ha ha... not that you can see them, but a little girl isn't complete without pink panties, right? ha ha...
I paper pieced her dress using the same polkadot paper I have in the background, but to make it a little more interesting, I used copics again, and added a few pink polkadots to the dress. I couldn't wait to tuck some lace under her dress, this idea popped in my mind, the moment that I saw this sweetie.
I went with a little bit of a "vintage" look, only because the whole idea of paper dolls is vintage in my opinion. Geeez, that makes me sound old now... especially since I LOVED playing with paper dolls...
Not only is this card entered over at Mo's Facebook Contest, but I'm also entering it on her Challenge Blog. Mo's Digital Challenge: - "Vintage with Distressing and Lace".
The other challenges that I have entered this card for are....
Paper Take Weekly - "Anything Goes"
The ABC Challenge - "Y for Yesterday"
Cute Card Thursday - "Lace"
I hope you have enjoyed my card today, and hopefully this little cutie has given you lots of fun childhood memories to think back to. Ahhhh, why can't life be as simple as it was when we were young? Now... THOSE were the Days!!!
