A SUPER fun Sketch Challenge with The Greeting Farm LOL

Gooooood Morning!!!  Did you happen to notice the title of this post?  Well I just HAD to write it that way, simply because this week The Greeting Farm blog has a SUPER FUN sketch for you to play with for this weeks Scrapbook challenge.   Ohhhhh, and I'll let you in on a secret... I created the sketch, so OF COURSE it just has to be "Super fun" in my opinion... LOL

Not to mention.... TODAY is TGF's release day!  Have you been visiting, and seeing all the awesome previews that their DT have shown this week?  WOW!!!!!  That's all I can say!  Oh and guess what?  They are having a mini blog hop today, Hop around, and leave your comments, you just never know... but what's even more fun, is that you'll want to hop around to the Scrapbook DT's blogs too....  You have a chance to win there as well.  You can find all the details on the Greeting Farm Blog (Link is above)  =)  But make sure you scroll down to read about the scrapbook challenge and your chance to win there as well.  =)

Alright, enough of my blabber......

Here is the sketch that I created for you all to play with.... I'd love to see your take on it, so if you have the time, I'd love to see you playing along with us.

With the U.S. celebrating the 4th of July this weekend.  I really wanted to use the colors red, white & blue.  Something patriotic.  When I originally created this sketch, the patriotic theme was the furthest thing from my mind.  BUT....  It's so typical of me to change my mind.

Soooooo, I got thinking.... What can I use to create this Patriotic page?  Then it hit me like a ton of bricks.... MY NIECE is in the NAVY.  Ah-ha.... Now lets find that picture of her, and see what I can do.....

Away we went, and it all just sort of fell into place.  This is what I came up with.

I have lots of different things going on here.  I used the special edition "Cheeky Mate" and colored her like a sailor girl.  And of course to go along with that, I used "Soldier Ian" and put him in camo but of course with the U.S. Navy colors.  My niece in her dress uniform is pictured against a flag that I made by cutting strips of red.  And naturally we have to have stars on our U.S. flag, so I used the stars that were in TGF's Spotlight kit, and sort of let them fly out from the flag.  The sentiments from TGF's "Cute Troop" were a perfect match for a page like this, so I incorporated them too.  Of course, I did manage to add a tiny bit from the latest Scrapbook kit from TGF.  The stitched stamps along the border, and under where it says "Navy Girl".  Ohhh, and The flowers were handmade.

So as you can see, I have a lot going on here, with a lot of different stamps from different sets etc.  I truly love the outcome of this page.

I got thinking.... I don't have a scrapbook to put this page in, most of my books are of my son, or him and his friends etc.  So I decided to email my niece and ask her if she thought she might like to have this.

This is what she said:  Aww I love it.  I'm so honored you used me for it. That's very special.  Hopefully they like it.  I have the perfect scrapbook to put it in.  I've been tryin to get a book together that showed my career n medals I received so that is perfect for the book.  Thank u soo much!

So even though I'm showing you this page today, I have already given it away!  I'm so happy that my niece loves it!  It makes it all the more fun when you can give a page away for someone else to add to their book.  I think it might be fun making pages for other peoples books, you never know, right?

Thanks for stopping by today, I hope you'll take the time to go and check out what the rest of the Scrapbook DT have created with my sketch.
And don't forget to hop on over to the TGF blog and see all those previews that are available TODAY!!!  You're going to LOVE all the new stamps!    I can't wait to shop!  =)
