I've spent my morning just playing with papers etc.
and decided that I would join in on the challenge over at
Just Magnolia
I think I have plenty of time to play along,
since this one is open until January 7th.
The challenge this week is to follow a sketch from Mina
and a very cool sketch it is too!
But anyway, in the process of my playing,
I decided I wanted to make a Valentine card to get ahead.
Since I just know that when I return to work next week,
I'm sure that within the next couple of weeks I'll
be getting some requests for Valentine Cards!
Since I was going to be using the adorable Tilda with Hearts,
I kind of wanted some heart type of paper.
After much searching through everything, I realized that
I don't have any! Oh - nooooo... What to do?
Well it's simple, Just Create Your Own!
I created my own DP's for this entire card, using nothing but
a piece of white, and a piece of red cardstock.
Imagine that!
I hand stamped the papers with a stamp from
Stampin' Up's Petite Backgrounds set,
and then colored in the little hearts!
Even the pink shades of paper were colored
Hey, since I was on the theme of not using any DP's
I may as well go all the way, right?
Extra work for sure, but I love the outcome!
I punched some flowers and leaves,
and ta-da...
My Magnolia card for this challenge is ready!
The only things that were not done by hand would be
the ric-rac up the side, and the little gems in the center
of the flowers. Obviously I can't make those by hand!
The sentiment is computer generated from my own collection.
The inside
Thanks for stopping by!
